As we are getting closer to Christmas, it is always this time of year that “money” becomes a big topic of conversation in our household. More often than not, it is the lack there of that is discussed. Probably like most families in the country, we live from paycheck to paycheck and try to pigeon hole money away for Christmas so that we can give nice gifts to the ones we love. ( Not out of Obligation, mind you. ) This year, we are tighter than normal and probably won’t be able to buy gifts for those outside of the three of us, Luke and I more than like won’t even buy gifts for each other just Rem. This doesn’t necessarily bother me, I am beginning to feel that there is too much pressure put on Christmas for people to go out and buy outrageous gifts instead of just appreciating spending time together as a family. I have a feeling that I am going to really enjoy this year because I won’t have all the holiday stress thrust my way and I can sit back and relax and enjoy my family. Maybe we will even start a new tradition! What are some of the traditions you hold dear? I would love some ideas!

Glamtastic!

Last week I got my hair done for the first time in over a year. That is what happens when you are a stay at home mom and everything else comes first instead of your hair. I am not saying this happens to all moms, just happened to me! I also got my eyebrows waxed, you may notice they are a bit shiny/red in the picture.  This had also not been done in almost a year….and for those of you who know me, that is wayyyyyy to long! Anyway, I just had a trim done on my hair and Tiffany straightened it for me, I love it! This is the longest my hair has been since probably 3rd grade. I could use some pointers on styling ideas and curling irons 101. My hair is soo much healthier now, and feels awesome! I am definitely going to try to keep up on my glam and take better care of myself, It is amazing what a simple haircut can do for your confidence!

Speaking of Glam! Adam Lambert is going to be releasing his first album prior to America Idol and his album cover has been released! I am not a fanatic by any means, nor am I an expert in music pop culture but I thought that this album cover was buzz worthy.  I think that it is true “Adam Lambert” style! From the first audition  Adam showed exactly who he was and never strayed, so why would he on his own solo album.  My only problem? Man I wish I could do makeup like that!

Mmm I think I love fall! When I look out the window and I can see the golden yellows, rusty orange, and fire reds of the leaves trembling in the wind, when I smell cinnamon and pumpkin, when snuggling up in a blanket with a good book. That is when I love fall. I hope that throughout my lifetime I get the opportunity to visit each region of the U.S. during fall. To watch the leaves turn in every part of this nation is my new item on the good ol bucketlist!

My new project for myself is to learn a fabulous recipe for homemade pumpkin pie… Now anybody who knows me will confirm that I am not “Betty Homemaker”, but I have been dabbling in the sorcery of Madame Martha Stewart of late, and I feel that is it time to have my own baking chops in at least one or two areas. SO, if there is anyone out there with a spectacular recipe for pumpkin pie or any ideas to spice up traditional recipes, lets hear em! I want to hear every suggestion out there!

A flickered anguish….

My Work Place Rocks!

It’s been one week….. since I started working. Remington LOVES daycare… which I am totally stoked about but at the same time I am a little bummed when I come to pick him up and he cries because he doesn’t want me to be there and wants to stay. I know that is mostly because he is Uber social and loves to play with other kids and not due to the fact that he hates me lol. I am loving my new job, coworkers and bosses! Paizanos is a way fun atmosphere, laid back and I feel like I can do a good job there too. My butt was definitely kicked last week by friday. Not because I don’t like to work or that it is too extremely hard but trying to balance Remington, working, and the house so that I don’t get behind on housework and too overwhelmed, which I tend to do if there is too much house work to do at one time.  I do like getting out of the house for the 3-4 hours, but I am missing the daily routine that Remington and I had also. Luke has been super supportive and has been helping me lots with Remington or housework as I have needed or asked.  Thanks so much Paizanos, Kina and Steve for hiring me and I will strive to be one of your best employees because I know the standard has been set high from those currently working for you!

Next week I have a Silpada party on Wednesday and I hoping that I will get more parties from it. I am really hoping that I can make some extra Christmas money with my jewelry sales. It hasn’t been the easiest for me to sell, I have never proclaimed myself a great sales person but I like to think that I am a positive and friendly person and I am willing to try hard! We’ll see how the party plays out!

Thursday  is the one year anniversary of my grandma’s passing. I have been missing her lately. Bernice Josephine Virtue, she was beautiful, sweet, fiesty, ornery, and one special grandmother. I never felt bad about grandma dying for the fact that she was ready, from the day that my grandpa passed away she was ready to go with him. I could see how empty it made her, how she had longed to feel him laying beside her at night, to cook him breakfast in the morning. She was also 84 years old and her health wasn’t great, she was in pain and  who wants to wake up every morning and be in pain and not feel good? I know that she is in a much better place, dancing to Lawrence Welk with Grandpa and smiling the biggest brightest most beautiful smile! I love and miss you grandma!!

Now as I said before I am a stay at home mom. I have been at home with my son, who is 2, since a little before he was born. Although he has been staying the night at his grandparents houses since he was two months old, he has never been watched by anyone other than his grandparents. With winter coming my husband’s work hours will be going down to the usual 40 hours a week which is great considering this will be the first time that he has worked only 40 hours a week since the first two year we were married. ( We’ve been married for six years. ) But we also aren’t use to the pay drop of only 40 hours a week, so I am picking up a part-time job working Mon-Fri 11-2 at Paizanos Pizza in town. Remington, my son, will be going to my mom’s Mondays and Fridays and Daycare Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays, I think it will be great for Remington to be around other kids. So here’s to starting a new job after two years of staying home! Wish me luck!

Luke, my husband, and I have been talking about adding to the family. So stay tuned for updates on that. Well, that’s it for now. I hope that this interests you and if it doesn’t well I guess piss off!
